"Smoking in the Boys Room harp tab?"
 
I just saw the Motley Crue video for Smoking in the Boys Room on VH1 Classic. I am not too familiar with the song...Does anyone know the key and tab??? Thanks

I heard a 30 second sample of the song and the song was in the key of "D". It's possible that the song changes key for the harmonica solo, but I don't have any way of telling. The player by the way was Mickey Raphael, who plays in the Willie Nelson Band.

Mickey Raphael played on a Motley Crue record? I know Cub Koda plays harp on the original version of "Smoking in the Boy's Room" by Brownsville Station; and the web research I've done says that Vince Neil (the lead singer of Motley Crue) plays the harp on the Motley Crue version, but I'll take your word for it.

Yep, I can't say I know personally every great player out there, but I've known Mickey since the mid-80's and that's definitely him on the record. Sometimes because of record labels contracts, guest musicians don't always get listed in the liner notes. Sometimes the liner notes just get screwed up.
