First off, Congratulations on your success. Paul Butterfield is known as a pucker style player, thats not to say he didnt TB. Junior Wells, one of my favorite players used TB modestly. With your bag of tricks I would take a different approach and not look at it as starting over, but as adding on. You could start with octaves, which I find it hard to play Blues without, and add as you feel comfortable. IMHO yes you are cheating yourself by not learning other methods and tricks. I steal everything from anybody and everybody when it comes to learning Harp. From Blind Men to Ten year old kids. If I can figure it out, its mine. When the learning stops, whats the point?
