I used to soak my harps. I don't think it's a good idea from what I've read even though lots of people do it. I blow into mine from the back of the harp, tap it a few times and that may take loose scale out of it especially after you finish playing it so nothing dries in it and it's easier to clean. Now I have heard of people taking the harp apart and cleaning it with rubbing alcohol.
