Dan Oreskovic

I have always been fascinated by the harmonica. I loved the sounds it made. One day three years ago I was Christmas shopping and came to a nick-nack store. I picked up a book entitled, Country and Blues Harmonica for the Musically Hopeless by Jon Gindick. Here was my chance to start playing the harmonica like I have always wanted to, to make the music come out and wail on it. Well, it didn't happen like that. I played Amazing Grace and was absolutely horrible. But I didn't care, it sounded awesome to me!!!

I messed around with it for a couple of years, here and there. One day, my fiances' grandfather came to town and boy, can he play the harp!! I was intimidated by his playing, but we went outside and he sat with me for about an hour. My notes were hurting his ears, he never told me that but I felt it. That was in August of 2002, since then I have been practicing almost everyday. I can now play a kick butt rendition of Swing Low, Swing Chariot!!!

One piece of advice he told me that has helped me:
No matter how you sound, keep playing! I have taken that advice and I can't wait till I see him again and play with him.

Which Harmonica do I need?

TESTIMONIAL
"Thank you for the best harp site on the net. Each time I log on I learn something new. I am a beginning harp player. I struggled around with the books. Now I think I wasted the money. The web is a great place to learn and buy."
Sincerely, Jon Charles, USA

TESTIMONIAL
"I was getting pretty frustrated trying to learn the Harp alone when I came across your web site. I find it very clear and interesting. It's the next best thing to having a private teacher sitting with you!"
