"What about the Shure SM-57?"

I have heard that some players dislike the Green Bullet mics most commonly associated with amplified blues harp, and they turn to a microphone more commonly used for vocals. Does anyone have an opinion on the Shure model SM-57?
Also, a question about amps. Would I be better off with a tube amp? Is there a chance for alot of feedback from a small tube amp as opposed to a larger one? I play guitar and right now I have a Fender Champion 30 DSP, not a tube amp. It has several built-in digital effects like reverb, delay, flange, etc. Any comments would be helpful.

The mic and amp question has been asked and answered many, many times in these Forums, in the archived Message Boards, and in the Mics and Amps section itself.

I'd go with a Shure SM-58s before a "58" (see Mics and Amps section).

Much more in the ADVANCED TOPICS forum. Let me know if you have more questions. Bottomline, there is no one correct amp and mic setup. It depends on your taste, abilities, and budget.
