"proper breathing"

I've being working on breathing from the diaphram while I play. My 2 draw sounds way better now

Unfortunately, I can only inhale for about 5 seconds, tops before needing to exhale again. Is this normal? Could I still be doing something else wrong?

You could be doing everything correctly. Just make sure that when you are drawing in, you are not taking air in through your nose also. Try holding you nose with one hand while drawing in and see if you notice any difference.

Play on,

That's a great point about breathing in through your nose! Every once and a while I catch my self doing that. As a matter of fact I've been working pretty hard at it. It makes a big difference in how much air you have available. Good luck.

Your right! I am breathing through my nose.

I'll keep practicing and see if I can get away from doing that. Otherwise, I'll have to resort to wearing a clothespin whenever I play )

Thanks for the help,
Albert
